Lovely peaceful stay . Surrounded by woodland. Saw red squirrel just outside my accommodation on 4 days out of 6. Had slight problem with door lock when I arrived but this was dealt with promptly. (I just needed to pull the door towards me!). There was a very nice welcome pack of milk, homemade bread, homemade marmalade and jam, shortbread and fruit. Tastefully furnished. Compact kitchen/diner but well equipped. Gravelled sitting out area with table, chairs.
Tips:Visit the Findhorn foundation, an Eco settlement which has the Phoenix cafe and separate shop. An interesting array of houses. Nearby Findhorn Village has a nice harbour and a selection of eating out places. Cawdor Castle and Gardens is worth a visit(concessions for OAPs). Lovely herbaceous borders. Fascinating castle. Further afield Inverness Botanic gardens are tricky to find(near a big leisure centre just off the A82 ) Entry is by donation and they often have plants for sale. Cafe and toilets. Burghead has a nice beach and nearby Roseisle has woodland walks. Didnt see any dolphins when I was there but they are out there. This was my 3rd visit to the area and I have always been lucky with the weather. Forres has a lovely park with amazing floral displays.

We only stayed one night but wish it had been longer to give time to explore the lovely estate on which Ardgye House is situated. Guest suite was lovely and the food provided for breakfast and snacks was perfect. Would definately stay again and recommend to family and friends.
Tips:Ardgye House is perfectly situated for exploring the local area and finding somewhere to eat. We spent a lovely, relaxing afternoon walking along Findhorn beach.

Kerry was lovely and thoughtful. It felt as if we were chatting to a long-standing friend! The bed was really comfortable with great pillows and the shower was very good. Breakfast was excellent and thanks for filling up our flasks. Some info in the rooms might need updating.....went in search of Simply Red and think it has shut down. We really appreciated your hospitality....thank you!
Tips:Went on a walk in Forres that is on the WalkHighlands website and really enjoyed it. Might be worth referring visitors to WalkHighlands as they have different grades for all walkers and there are a few around Moray. Enjoyed gluten free pizza at Scribbles! Will probably be back at some point to walk sections of the Moray coastal path.

Beautiful accommodation, very central accommodation for touring Speyside Scotland. Very comfy bed and lovely spacious room. Amazing breakfast and lovely owners, would highly recommended.
Tips:The Copper Dog Inn in Craigellachie has fantastic food, The Duffus Inn was good too. Go to Findhorn beach, so pretty and Portgordon beach has seals on it when the tide is in. Use Ardgye house on sat nav and not postcode otherwise you will end up a mile up the road

Such a beautiful house and location. Our triple room was lovely and large and we even had a dressing room! Kerry, our hostess, was extremely friendly and helpful. Since we were doing a tour at Glen Moray, she made sure we had a taxi to take us there. As well, she gave us lots of recommendations for restaurants in Elgin and things to see and do. Breakfasts were wonderful with lots of choices. The two lounges were great places to curl up and relax after long days of sightseeing.
Tips:Go to Findhorn and Lossiemouth for beautiful beaches and fresh seafood. Glen Moray Distillery is very close by and well worth a tour. We went by taxi then walked from there into Elgin to explore the Cathedral.

Excellent breakfast with bacon, sausages and black pudding from their own Tamworth pigs, and eggs from their own chickens. Picturesque grounds with woodland, deer and red squirrels.

A really outstanding place. It looks and feels like a really classy country hotel but the personal touches make it a warm and friendly B&B. Perfect place to stay and relax, use as a base to explore Moray, Aberdeenshire and Highland, or in my case provide a welcome break in a working trip up north. Highly recommended. I should also say that, as vegans, the thoughtful touches put on for us were really lovely, among the best we've ever had.

Great location for short and longtime stays. We have been there for 4 nights. The biggest room we ever had in a B&B. Magnificent entrance hall and two georgeous sitting rooms for guests. We felt like being in Downton Abbey :-) Great hospitality and huge variety in breakfast options including a vegetarian option. We will come back and can absolutely recommend this beautiful B&B!

I have stayed in many guest houses / hotels over the years - this is by far the nicest hotel that I have ever stayed in. Wooden panelled walls, wooden floors a superb staircase and landing. Absolutely fabulous! I chose a truly fantastic place to stay in Ardgye House and would recommend it without hesitation to anyone travelling to this area of Scotland. I can't wait to go back!!! Very helpful and friendly owners - nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic bedroom - enormous in size and most comfortable. Thoroughly recommended.
Tips:Located close to Elgin. Trip to the Glen Moray Distillery well worth making. Good evening meal at The Kimberly Inn in Findhorn. Findhorn has a fantastic bay and is well worth a trip. Unfortunately I suffered a minor injury to my eye before I left home (Norfolk) for Scotland. If you need non-urgent medical attention I would recommend the Minor Injuries Units. I went to the one at Grantown-On-Spey. Only waited 15 minutes to be seen and had the problem quickly resolved. Downside had to travel 30 mins to Grantown-On-Spey whereas the A & E at Elgin was only a few minutes away. However, this was more than made up for by the short waiting time.

This is a large traditional house set in 150 acres of truly inspirational woodland, with a wider hinterland of woods and fields. Kerry seems to run everything and she is a charming and attentive host The breakfasts are epic in the range of possibilities. My room was immaculate, spotless and could have comfortably housed Last night at the Proms.
Tips:Make sure you leave yourself at least an hour to wander in these magical woods, or climb up the knowe to the tower. I ate at the Spice Tandoori, close to the centre and housed in a large church. The menu had sufficient without being extensive. the chef was excellent.

Comfortable, expansive rooms, lovely naturally tended grounds, delicious breakfasts (including a smorgasbord of fresh fruit, for those of us who eat somewhat lightly in the morning), conveniently located just outside of Elgin. I sadly didn't have much time to spend at the house during my trip, but I'd definitely book again. The house itself is stunning and full of lovely, original Edwardian features. The owner was so friendly and welcoming and the rooms were large and bright - with super comfy beds - just what I needed after a hectic work trip!
Tips:Really well situated to explore the Morayshire coast and the distilleries of the Malt Whisky Trail.

Friendly service, comfortable bed, lovely house in beautiful countryside....can't ask for more than that.
Tips:Findhorn was interesting with good food at the Kimberly Inn. Speyside Cooperage is well worth a visit to complement the whisky distillery tour. Elgin Cathedral and biblical gardens were also a highlight.

So peaceful, keep an eye out for the red squirrels at breakfast time. For a getaway, wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Just what we needed after a few hectic days.

Fantastic..... although I only stayed the one night I would certainly recommend the Ardgye House. Friendly staff, lovely clean room and bathroom, comfy bed and a delicious breakfast. And where else would you get to see a deer from the breakfast room. Keep up the good work Ardgye House
