Lovely peaceful stay . Surrounded by woodland. Saw red squirrel just outside my accommodation on 4 days out of 6. Had slight problem with door lock when I arrived but this was dealt with promptly. (I just needed to pull the door towards me!). There was a very nice welcome pack of milk, homemade bread, homemade marmalade and jam, shortbread and fruit. Tastefully furnished. Compact kitchen/diner but well equipped. Gravelled sitting out area with table, chairs.
Tips:Visit the Findhorn foundation, an Eco settlement which has the Phoenix cafe and separate shop. An interesting array of houses. Nearby Findhorn Village has a nice harbour and a selection of eating out places. Cawdor Castle and Gardens is worth a visit(concessions for OAPs). Lovely herbaceous borders. Fascinating castle. Further afield Inverness Botanic gardens are tricky to find(near a big leisure centre just off the A82 ) Entry is by donation and they often have plants for sale. Cafe and toilets. Burghead has a nice beach and nearby Roseisle has woodland walks. Didnt see any dolphins when I was there but they are out there. This was my 3rd visit to the area and I have always been lucky with the weather. Forres has a lovely park with amazing floral displays.

We only stayed one night but wish it had been longer to give time to explore the lovely estate on which Ardgye House is situated. Guest suite was lovely and the food provided for breakfast and snacks was perfect. Would definately stay again and recommend to family and friends.
Tips:Ardgye House is perfectly situated for exploring the local area and finding somewhere to eat. We spent a lovely, relaxing afternoon walking along Findhorn beach.

Kerry was lovely and thoughtful. It felt as if we were chatting to a long-standing friend! The bed was really comfortable with great pillows and the shower was very good. Breakfast was excellent and thanks for filling up our flasks. Some info in the rooms might need updating.....went in search of Simply Red and think it has shut down. We really appreciated your hospitality....thank you!
Tips:Went on a walk in Forres that is on the WalkHighlands website and really enjoyed it. Might be worth referring visitors to WalkHighlands as they have different grades for all walkers and there are a few around Moray. Enjoyed gluten free pizza at Scribbles! Will probably be back at some point to walk sections of the Moray coastal path.

Beautiful accommodation, very central accommodation for touring Speyside Scotland. Very comfy bed and lovely spacious room. Amazing breakfast and lovely owners, would highly recommended.
Tips:The Copper Dog Inn in Craigellachie has fantastic food, The Duffus Inn was good too. Go to Findhorn beach, so pretty and Portgordon beach has seals on it when the tide is in. Use Ardgye house on sat nav and not postcode otherwise you will end up a mile up the road

Such a beautiful house and location. Our triple room was lovely and large and we even had a dressing room! Kerry, our hostess, was extremely friendly and helpful. Since we were doing a tour at Glen Moray, she made sure we had a taxi to take us there. As well, she gave us lots of recommendations for restaurants in Elgin and things to see and do. Breakfasts were wonderful with lots of choices. The two lounges were great places to curl up and relax after long days of sightseeing.
Tips:Go to Findhorn and Lossiemouth for beautiful beaches and fresh seafood. Glen Moray Distillery is very close by and well worth a tour. We went by taxi then walked from there into Elgin to explore the Cathedral.

Excellent breakfast with bacon, sausages and black pudding from their own Tamworth pigs, and eggs from their own chickens. Picturesque grounds with woodland, deer and red squirrels.

A really outstanding place. It looks and feels like a really classy country hotel but the personal touches make it a warm and friendly B&B. Perfect place to stay and relax, use as a base to explore Moray, Aberdeenshire and Highland, or in my case provide a welcome break in a working trip up north. Highly recommended. I should also say that, as vegans, the thoughtful touches put on for us were really lovely, among the best we've ever had.

We felt like being in Downton Abbey :-) Great hospitality and huge variety in breakfast options including a vegetarian option. We will come back and can absolutely recommend this beautiful B&B!

I have stayed in many guest houses / hotels over the years - this is by far the nicest hotel that I have ever stayed in. Wooden panelled walls, wooden floors a superb staircase and landing. Absolutely fabulous! I chose a truly fantastic place to stay in Ardgye House and would recommend it without hesitation to anyone travelling to this area of Scotland. I can't wait to go back!!! Very helpful and friendly owners - nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic bedroom - enormous in size and most comfortable. Thoroughly recommended.
Tips:Located close to Elgin. Trip to the Glen Moray Distillery well worth making. Good evening meal at The Kimberly Inn in Findhorn. Findhorn has a fantastic bay and is well worth a trip. Unfortunately I suffered a minor injury to my eye before I left home (Norfolk) for Scotland. If you need non-urgent medical attention I would recommend the Minor Injuries Units. I went to the one at Grantown-On-Spey. Only waited 15 minutes to be seen and had the problem quickly resolved. Downside had to travel 30 mins to Grantown-On-Spey whereas the A & E at Elgin was only a few minutes away. However, this was more than made up for by the short waiting time.

This is a large traditional house set in 150 acres of truly inspirational woodland, with a wider hinterland of woods and fields. Kerry seems to run everything and she is a charming and attentive host The breakfasts are epic in the range of possibilities. My room was immaculate, spotless and could have comfortably housed Last night at the Proms.
Tips:Make sure you leave yourself at least an hour to wander in these magical woods, or climb up the knowe to the tower. I ate at the Spice Tandoori, close to the centre and housed in a large church. The menu had sufficient without being extensive. the chef was excellent.

I sadly didn't have much time to spend at the house during my trip, but I'd definitely book again. The house itself is stunning and full of lovely, original Edwardian features. The owner was so friendly and welcoming and the rooms were large and bright - with super comfy beds - just what I needed after a hectic work trip!
Tips:Really well situated to explore the Morayshire coast and the distilleries of the Malt Whisky Trail.

Beautiful rooms, nice and spacious without clutter. Lovely common areas. Nice breakfast. Engaged and personable hosts. A short but very sweet stay! The only (very small) thing that could be improved is the visibility of signage to the property. Arriving at night, we *really* needed to concentrate to see the signs. It was excellent that there were several of them, but it was only really the four (well-deserved!) stars that reflected light (in the dark the red background was more difficult to see).

Tips:Moray is a lovely area, we were lucky with sunshine, but generally the climate was warm and pleasant, gentle countryside, beautiful light, views of the sea and the mountains to the north, and lots to visit both history (castles, cathedral, etc, etc) and seaside - white sands and charming fishing villages. Absolutely LOVED everything about our stay at Ardgye House on Monday evening (21st July). The house is simply beautiful; elegantly furnished and set in a beautiful location. We have just returned from a fantastic stay at Ardgye House. The room (3) we were staying in was very spacious, beds were very comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was fantastic...would recommend anything on the menu but the scrambled eggs and hot smoked salmon was brilliant. Carol was very accommodating and nothing was too much bother. She recommended a chinese restaurant but unfortunately it was fully booked.....however, we got a carryout and Carol very kindly allowed us to use the dining room to eat it. We also got the use of the very spacious and comfortable lounge for a few drinks in the evening.....wine chilled by Carol :-) I really can't thank you enough for a most wonderful stay, and will definately be back. The beds are comfortable and the location is far enough off the road to be very quiet. The breakfast menu is extensive and can be personalized upon request. We would recommend this place for couples or families with older children. Room 3 has a walk in shower.
Tips:Elgin is located near the coast and close to many smaller hamlets. The location is scenic.

Friendly, welcoming, and genuinely interested in us! So often hosts make polite conversation, but they do not really listen to their guests replies. This does not apply to Ardgye House.
Tips:Try to get to the long sandy beach just outside Findhorn. You will have to take the marked footpath. One of the finest stretches of beach ever. Sea a bit chilly though, unless you possess a wetsuit. The ruins of Kinloss Abbey and the war graves.

What a perfect find. Great quiet location yet very central to neighbouring Elgin, Lossiemouth, Forres and the Speyside malt whiskey trail! Massive bedroom and massive ensuite, spotlessly clean. Delicious breakfast and it was lovely sitting eating breakfast looking out the window at red squirrels eating theirs! The deer were in the driveway when we got back in the evenings. Absolutely no road noise, just the sound of nature - slept really well. Overall a fantastic place, highly recommend it.

Lovely stay, room 1 with on-suit shower room and dressing room is very spacious-as big as the ground floor of our house. Breakfast was delicious, great choice. I had toasted muffin, scrabbled egg and smoked salmon, hubby has Ardgye Scottish Breakfast. Needless to say we didn't need to eat until suppertime. I would agree with other comments on Trip Advisor, sign on A96 would better illuminated.

Tips:Basically rely on the red guest guide in the room, we tried out many of the recommendations and never had a negative experience. Apart from that, check out the Crown and Anchor in Findhorn, great food and nice to sit outside. We toured 12 distelleries in 11 days, all were a bit different but interesting. This was a lovely house that was clean and spectacular inside. I would have loved to have seen it when it was first built with the servants. The gardens were nice and the 4 red squirrels that paid a visit a very pleasant treat. The breakfast was freshly made, piping hot and really tasty especially the sausage and black pudding. The bedroom was clean and fresh and looked almost brand new. The view wasn't much but hey you can't have everything. I really enjoyed my stay and would stay there again without hesitation. I would certainly recommend it to my friends and family.
Tips:Used the weatherspoons in the town for my evening meal which was up to what you would expect of them. Elgin was a pleasnt surprise too, much larger than I recall

Words cannot describe how beautiful this wonderful House is..... The Setting is charming and although located on the busy A96, is far enough away from the road for Traffic Noise not to be an issue. Carol the Owner is charming and very welcoming and makes you feel special. The House is filled with beautiful furniture, and is immaculately clean. The Breakfast was very tasty, hot and delivered with a smile and polite conversation, which was perfect. Eaten whilst watching the Red Squirrels chasing each other around the Grounds was idyllic. Talking to the charming young lady that served breakfast it was also not unusual to see Deer in the grounds to, and although this was not witnessed personally, I can quite envisage this happening. The Rooms are spacious and very clean with tasteful fittings and high quality toiletries available for use. I was also very impressed with the fact that because the rooms are displayed online when you book, you can actually see which room you are booking, rather than a 'generic room type' which I thought was a lovely touch. I really cannot praise this Establishment highly enough, and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in the Area.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and very much hope to return in the future. I stay in a lot of hotels and guesthouses and can say Ardgye House is 5*; I couldn't recommend it more highly. The room was spotless, comfortable and welcoming. There were a lot of breakfast choices and they were superbly cooked and served. The house is conveniently just off the main road, but there was no traffic noise at all. The 8am fly-past of Lossiemouth jets was a slight surprise but were over very quickly!
Tips:The Crooked Inn just down the road was a lovely find - thank you for recommending it. We also enjoyed a nice meal at the (busy) Kimberley Inn, Findhorn. Although Elgin is close by, we focused on visiting Fort George (which included some wonderful dolphin watching), Nairn, Findhorn and the huge 10th century Sueno Stone on the edge of Forres: all a very easy drive west. Another day saw us drive to Dallas Dhu and Knockando Wool Mill - both attractive heritage sites of huge interest.

From start to finish our stay at Ardgye House was a positive experiece, from the warm welcome on arrival to the friedly farewell on departure. Our room, which was very spacious was also spotlessly clean and of a high standard, rarely have we enjoyed a better night's sleep than we had in the comfortable and peaceful environs of our room. Breakfast was served freshly cooked using qualiy ingredients with menu options which would surely satisfy all tastes. For us our stay at Ardgye House was a perfect 10/10
Tips:If approaching Ardgye House from Forres and your satnav directs you into a picnic area,as mine did, rejoin the road and continue in the direction of Elgin for a short distance (2-300 mts) and Ardgye House entrance is signposted on the right.
