12th July 2021:
We had a lovely stay at Willowbarn. The accommodation was first class with plenty of room and everything you could need. Everything was spotlessly clean and you see there was a lot of attention to detail. A beautiful food basket was also waiting for us with lots of local produce, all of which was an unexpected delicious surprise. My husband made good use of the bikes at Willowbarn and there was lots of great dog walks literally on our doorstep. It’s a great location to visit all surrounding areas, including Findhorn, Nairn and Lossiemouth. We would definitely return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
Tips:La Boheme at the Findhorn Foundation does great take away pizza. The Kimberley in Findhorn is lovely for a drink and also has great food. The Dava Way (near Willowbarn) is great to walk your dog.

An absolute gem - of a property...and a host couple! We could not have been made to feel more comfortable and welcome by Carlo and Fiona (and their gorgeous dogs). The barn feels cosy but has enough space for four people to find their own space (especially two year olds playing hide and seek!). The space is bright and modern and has absolutely everything we needed. The location is stunning - close to all amenities but a world away from the bustle. We had to deal with an medical emergency when we were there and the kindness and support offered by Carlo and Fiona at a tough time was incredible. It is at times like that when you really appreciate the difference between a host and a business owner. We were so touched by their kindness.
Tips:Findhorn beach for a show stopping view on a morning walk; The Kimberley Inn for a cold beer and hot, fresh seafood afterwards; and, a visit to Brodie for some great gifts and a great cuppa and baking for the afternoon.

Tips:Unfortunately my stay was work oriented and was not able to tour but do know the area is filled with history and local to many activities. Biking, fishing, hiking, site seeing - list could go on.

We were greeted at Willowbarn by Carlo who said 'this is your home for the next few days ... enjoy". It certainly was the home of our dreams and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accommodation and facilities were exceptional and we were sad that our stay was far too short. We hope to return again as soon as possible. It is also refreshing to find excellent accommodation which welcomes dogs.
Tips:We weren't very adventurous as we were visiting family who live nearby so we spent much of our time with them but Willowbarn is conveniently situated for country pursuits at Logie Steading or taking in the sea air at Findhorn. There is something for everyone in this area.

Loved the place ....was impressed from the time we pulled into the drive and seen the stunning grounds..bedrooms kitchen and living rooms and the two bathrooms were all kept up to a high standard well supplied and clean ...these guys offer so much from bbq equipment to bikes..there’s a lovely seating area to the rear and would highly recommend this place to anyone ...carlo was a lovely guy and couldn’t do more to help us with anything and was easy to talk to and approach also made us feel most welcome
Tips:Their are plenty of essentials around like restaurants ,cafes, pubs, shops if you would like to eat out and a cupple of fuel stations in the area also a big Tesco and Lidl’s if you require a shop...tip for traveling up there is not to push your fuel to far as some stretches on the way up you don’t see a fuel station for a while but some of the nicest views you will see in Scotland

Fiona and Carlo are a very friendly and welcoming couple. Nothing I's too much trouble for them. The accommodation is wonderful, it is very well appointed and furnished to a high standard. Very light and airy, with videos and games to amuse if weather is not as one would expect. We were very lucky weather was very good, didn't really want to come home.
Tips:We love Findhorn, there's plenty to see in Forres, Nelson Tower, Grant Park, Sueno Stone and of course the delightful Benromach distillery and Dallas Dhu. The Bothy at Burghead is a good place to eat, as too is the Sunninghill at Elgin. Nairn, and Lossiemouth are within easy distance, and aapprox 38mls there is Aviemore and the lovely Loch Morlich for water sport walking etc, plus ski lift. We love it in Scotland and I've enjoyed every holiday there for the last 60 years, if you've not been to Scotland, you don't know what you are missing.

Fiona and Miele were really warm and gave us a lovely welcome including fresh flowers, wine and biscuits waiting for us in the barn. Sorted out the wifi issue quickly which saved us from too much moaning from our teenagers! Great customer service.
Tips:This is a fantastic place if you have a dog. We took our 1 yr Golden Retriever and he was in his element. Great forest walks at Culbin and Roseisle has the beach and forest to explore. Only issue we had was finding places to eat where we could take both dog and kids. Pub in Forres lets dogs into bar but not kids and let's kids into lounge area but not dogs!! Other than that perfect location to explore villages on Moray coast. The Dolphin centre at Spey Bay is worth a visit. We spotted the Dolphins which was great.

Enjoyed a very comfortable week here. Accommodation is excellent with extremely comfortable beds. Hosts very helpful and provided suggestions for activities. Facilities were very good but we would suggest a patio area or raised deck / balcony out behind the barn to enjoy sitting out as the present area is more of a yard. The grounds are lovely but a designated guest area would be a plus.
Tips:Kimberley inn is good for lunch/ supper. N58 sea life cruise is fun. Plenty of good beaches. If you have long haired dogs then treat with tick repellant. We forgot and our dogs seem to have been on a tick collecting mission!

Fiona & Carlo were very friendly, helpful and welcoming - the flowers, wine and cookies were a lovely surprise when we arrived. Willowbarn gave us a touch of luxury for our week's holiday - everything you could possibly want and more (we loved the underfloor heating in the bathrooms!) The location is stunning - we couldn't believe the variety of wildlife we saw wandering round the grounds! Being on the outskirts of Forres was ideal, being so close to both the coast and the mountains there was so much to do. We will be back - thank you!
Tips:We enjoyed good food at the Mosset Tavern (make sure you book first!) and Logie Steading. Favourite places to visit - Culbin and Roseisle (Forestry Commission owned) Findhorn beach and the Dolphin Centre at Spey Bay. Our son (14) also enjoyed Landmark Park at Carrbridge. Everywhere we visited was well presented, clean and tidy and reasonably priced (if not free!)

Absolutely fantastic. Willowbarn truly is luxury in every sense - comfortable, clean, well appointed and well situated to enjoy all that the Moray area has to offer. Carlo and Fiona are the most welcoming of hosts and could not do enough for you, Fiona even let our daughter borrow her hybrid bike for the weekend, although they provide a great selection of other bikes. I urge anyone seeking a peaceful luxury break to book Willowbarn.
Tips:The beaches we visited - Findhorn, Roseisle etc - were stunning. Unfortunately as we were heavily committed family wise this weekend we did not explore as much as we would have liked. Culloden battlefield was interesting and atmospheric. Recommend the fish and chips from Carlo's shop in Forres.

Tips:Culbin forrest and walk at Logie Steadings to Randolph's Leap were highlights but we just loved the Dava Way north to Forres and south too. A night walk along this was an adventure for our boys. Be mindful that some attractions have reduced opening hours/days from October!

Very nice barn in a peaceful location with lots of freedom for kids to explore the surrounding garden. Easy access to a nice cycle path into Forress. The accommodation was a highlight of the trip.
Tips:Beaches at Findhorn and Nairn were both excellent and only 15 minutes by car. If you want to go to the Mosset tavern on a Sunday afternoon book or you will be disappointed. They have free face painting and kids activities so it's very popular. We drove along to Banff and and Pennan (local hero ) not sure either were worth the trip. we dropped into Loggie Steading on the way out of Forres and liked it all including the coffee shop and play park.
